There are numerous elevator consultancies in the market and choosing the right one to offer the correct elevator’s maintenance tasks can be confusing. The elevator consultant not only offers maintenance services, but also makes certain that the elevator is running smoothly all the time. In a country like the United States of America, the National Association of Elevator Safety Authority (NAESA) ensures that every elevator consultant upholds the elevator code of ethics. Other bodies, such as, the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation educate the general public on elevator safety.
A good elevator consultant will always check the safety brake, along with the speed-sensing governor of the elevator whilst undertaking his general maintenance rounds. Similar to an emergency brake that is found in vehicles, it slows down the elevator car in case it plummets. Basically, the elevator’s door system has been improved over the years and currently it comes with an invisible light ray sensor that reverses the door without the need for human contact.
