Experience
Nicholas Wu is an electrical engineer with nine years experience in the inspection of vertical transportations systems and technical support in the elevator industry. He inspected more than 6500 vertical transportation systems including elevators, escalators, moving walkways, dumbwaiters, hydraulic elevators and other related equipment. Nicholas Wu is very familiar with vertical transportations systems principles and various elevator manufacturers’ products such as Otis, Schindler, ThyssenKrupp, KONE, Dover, Hitachi, Mitsubishi and Fujitec. Nicholas Wu’s elevator related experience is as follows:
- Lead Inspector and Supervisor of large elevator inspection projects.
- Performed inspections on various elevating devices.
- Composed elevating devices safety assessment reports.
- Identified, analyzed and rectified deficiencies on elevating devices.
- Advised, authored and developed technical standards for the elevating safety act in China.
- Established inspection procedures and quality manual.
Nicholas Wu has participated in several important vertical transportation systems inspection projects in China, including the Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou City (over 150 escalators and elevators); Guangzhou Centre Plaza (advanced elevator models at rated speed of 1400 FPM); and Subway in Guangzhou (over 300 escalators and hydraulic elevators). He is proficient in identifying issues and troubleshooting problems.
